There are 74 Islands
that make up the Whitsunday group, the most well known is probably Hamilton Island, there are 8 inhabited islands in all, thay are all “Resort Islands”, the real fun starts when you get to visit the uninhabited islands and get to explore isolated beaches and anchant caves with Aboriginal paintings dating back thousands of years.
The largest island is Whitsunday Island, Whitehaven Beach is on Whitsunday Island so you will definitely visit Whitsunday island on any overnight sailing trips.
